The blanket was filled with little girls and baby rabbits. “Dad, can I keep this one?!” My daughter held the 2-week old baby rabbit to her chest. “We’ll see,” I said. The two girls had been playing with the furry bunnies for 30 minutes. They were no bigger than teacups. The girls “Oohhhed” and “Aaahhhed” as they picked up one then another of the tiny fur balls with twitching noses. It seemed they couldn’t cuddle or hug the nine babies enough; little girls loving littler rabbits.
It reminded me of God’s love for the world. There are millions of people all around this planet; people in every country, young and old, big and small, near and far. None of us are out of the reach of God’s love. He is immeasurable, we are small, and yet he loves everyone of us. We can know God’s love because of the price he paid to buy us by giving His Son to pay for our sins.
Just like the girls who couldn’t love their pets enough, God’s love is abundant and unconditional. His love is completed through this promise that, “Whoever believes in Him (Jesus Christ) should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Is your belief in Jesus to give you this life? If so, have you reveled in this promise today? Take a moment and thank Him for His love shown to you through His Son.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
